The history of Dzerzhinsk
We live in Dzerzhinsk. It was founded in 1930 the left bank of the Oka-river. Till 1930 there was a village, called Rastyapino. M.Kalinin in 1927 said to Rastyapino people, that the Soviet government decided to build an industrial town there. His words became true.
Today, Dzerzhinsk is an industrial town . The history of Dzerzhinsk illustrates the history of our country, which began from the first days of Soviet power: enthusiasm of the first years, heroism during the Great Patriotic war, creative labour after the war, decay-during the “perestroyka” and now –reconstruction of industry. Although Dzerzhinsk is the center of chemical industry, it is not so dirty, as it had been before, because not all the plants are working now and there are a lot of trees in the town, especially in the center.
The sights of the town
Our town has the remarkable places, such as:

- Palace of children's creativity,

The park
The center of the town it’s one of our favourite places, there is a park. It’s a very crowded place. There are always a lot of people in the park on Sundays.
We can have a good time with our friends, meet new friends or just listen to music there. We think, everybody can find his own place in the park and spend there a part of his three time.
Palace of culture of chemists
Palace of culture of the chemists is constructed in 1959. It is conducting establishment of culture in city of Dzerzhinsk. there is open the set of section and circles. Except for an auditorium on 900 places, in the Palace of culture of chemists has sports and lecture halls.
The house of the book
The house of the book is huge library of a name of N.K.Krupskoj with the big stock of books and with modern technologies of service. There it is possible to find the qualitative information on some question or to read rare books in a reading room.
The Palace of Children’s Creativity
The Palace of Children’s Creativity is the centre of cultural development of children and teenagers in our city. From time to time there pass demonstration performances of engaged children. Spectators are admired qualitatively made pieces.
Drama and doll theatres
At drama and doll theatres you can see theatrical statements for adults and for children. The drama theatre is located on the Theatrical area. The doll theatre is situated in park.
The cinema "Grand piano"
The cinema "Grand piano" is a young cinema. It was opened in 2008 and at once became a favourite place of our people.
Eternal fire
The memorial of memory is constructed in honour of the lost heroes. It's height is 18 meters. This memorial settles down on the area of Heroes, on crossing of boulevard of the World and Lenin's prospect. The monument was opened in May, 9, 1965.
Sports and fitness complex
Sports and fitness complex has a pool, an ice-rink, a sports hall, a training hall. It is the school of preparation of the future Olympic champions in various kinds of sports.
The Okskaya Embankment
The Okskaya Embankment is remarkable place for walks. The oak wood, a sand beach, solar patches of light on water create a unique relaxing atmosphere of calmness.
Our school №22
Our school is situated in Dzerzhinsk in Tereshkova street. It was founded in 1966 and next year we’ll celebrate the 44 th birthday of our school.
Our school isn’t very big. There are three floors. On the ground floor there are classrooms for junior students, a library and a gymnasium. On the first floor there are classrooms for senior students. On the second and third floors there are Russion and Literature studies, Maths and Science studies, French and two English studies. There is also a dining room. Every day we have five or six lessons. We begin two study at 8.30 a.m. and finish at 2.05.p.m. our principal language is French, but we like two learn English too. So we like our teacher Lado Tatyana Vladimirovna. She helps us to learn English, she speaks with us about the UK and the USA. Our teacher has many certificates and diplomas. We want to say that it’s very interesting – to learn in our school, so we think our students don’t want to leave it.
Why we love our city
We like Dzerzhinsk very much and we like walking along the streets and squares. It is a young and beautiful town. There are a lot of places to relax with friends. It's not a big town, so there are no transport problems. Though our town has not yet completely recovered, we think that with correct management Dzerzhinsk will be able to restore and take one of the leading places in Russian chemical industry, and also will keep and will increase greatly the cultural heritage.
